Gong & Sound Healing Workshop
More than learning to play the Gong ... This three day immersion is not simply about learning how to play the Gong. It is an invitation to develop a genuine relationship with an instrument that has the power to transform both the player and the listener.

About the event
Facilitated by Tom Soltron
For the last 25 years, the Gong has been my greatest teacher. It has taken me to more than 40 countries, where I have shared Sound Ceremonies, concerts, individual sessions and workshops. More importantly, it has taught me that creating a healing experience is not about playing louder, faster or with more techniques.
It is about learning to listen to the instrument, to the silence, to the people in front of us, and ultimately, to ourselves.
This three day immersion is not simply about learning how to play the Gong. It is an invitation to develop a genuine relationship with an instrument that has the power to transform both the player and the listener.
We will explore both the technical and intuitive aspects of playing:
How different mallets shape the sound,
How to work with dynamics, rhythm, overtones, resonance, trance and deep rest,
How to create Sound Baths, individual therapeutic sessions and musical journeys.
Yet technique is only half of the conversation. The other half is presence. Because anyone can strike a Gong, creating a space where another human being feels safe enough to relax, open and receive is a different art altogether.
Together we will explore the subtle details that often remain unspoken:
How to enter a session,
Hold space before the first sound is made,
Work consciously with silence, voice and timing,
Understand how every choice influences the nervous system of those who have entrusted us with their experience.
You will also have the opportunity to play the complete collection of Tone of Life Gongs and Bell Plates.
These instruments have been shaped through more than two decades of daily practice, therapeutic work, concerts and teaching. Every refinement comes from real experience and from listening to what truly serves both the player and the listener.
Whether you already own a Gong, are looking for your first instrument, or simply feel called by its sound, you will discover that choosing a Gong is much like choosing a lifelong companion.
Perhaps the greatest gift of these three days will be the community we create together, a small circle where questions are welcomed, there is no pressure to perform, and learning happens through shared experience.
My wish is that you leave with more than knowledge. That you leave with greater trust in yourself, a deeper relationship with your instrument, and the understanding that healing is not something we do to another person. We simply create the conditions in which healing can unfold.
The Gong is not the healer.
Neither are we.
We are simply learning how to become better listeners.
And from that place, the music begins.
