Saturn Retrogrades Back into Pisces

1 Sep 2025 – 14 Feb 2026

Saturn in Pisces
Saturn in Pisces

(After traveling through Pisces—the last sign of the zodiac—from 7 Mar 2023 to 25 May 2025, Saturn returns to review, refine, and complete unfinished themes before re-entering Aries in mid-February 2026, continuing a new 29.5-year journey.)

Personally, I feel this transit may connect us with grief; we are finishing a 29.5-year cycle. These next five and a half months mark an ending—everything returns to the waters of Pisces/the collective. Our leaders, elders, role models, and the systems and structures we created and supported in the last cycle may be consumed by deep waters. We have glimpsed a new foundation sparked by Saturn in Aries over the last three months, and we will continue to do so from 14 Feb 2026. For now, we can reflect on the last cycle—what we became used to, our comfortable life, family structures, and the systems that provided basic needs (at least for some)—and how all of this may be absorbed by the larger forces of Pisces.

Our attachments to these foundations/people/systems/family/stabilities can break, and we may feel grief—an intense, very real feeling that few want to meet because it can feel all-consuming. You cannot stand aside and observe it; you are swallowed by the depth of the Ocean, where you can only feel. Finally, we surrender, embrace it, understand it, that grief is part of life, everyday we lose something, someone, sometimes for ever… we recognize how insignificant some actions, decisions, and daily concerns are. The world existed before us and will exist long after we leave; the Waters of Life (Pisces) continue their journey through Time (Saturn). Grief can teach Compassion (Pisces) and Maturity (Saturn). We may age quickly, learn unpleasant truths about our actions, and also discover what truly matters.

One way to give form (Saturn) to the formless (Pisces) is through art.

During this transit we can practice disciplined spirituality: boundaries that protect sensitivity, service grounded in reality, and creative routines that turn inspiration into workable systems.

Major themes of Saturn in Pisces: Accountability in spiritual/healing spaces, media, care systems; grief, oceans/water, rest and recovery become structural priorities.

On a personal level, the house Pisces rules in your chart gets sober, simplified, and sanctified.

Gifts to develop:

  • Empathy with boundaries—care without rescuing.

  • Structured spiritual practice—daily ritual over vague aspiration.

  • Creative discipline—art with timelines and deliverables.

  • Service with integrity—healing, recovery, and public welfare.

Shadows to transmute:

  • Martyr/savior roles,

  • Leaky boundaries,

  • Escapism or addictions,

  • Spiritual bypassing, hypocrisy,

  • Emotional coldness.

Insecurities may surface around failure, vulnerability, helplessness, or pressure to be unauthentic.

Evolutionary tasks:

  • Build containers for big feelings and visions (schedules, vows, limits).

  • Define a sacred “no”—compassion/compliance.

  • Turn a dream into a plan (milestones, mentors, metrics).

  • Translate inspiration into commitment.

Practical practices (not only for sound practitioners)

  • 40-day ritual (mantra, breath, gong/toning, journaling).

  • Review Boundaries (people/places/apps); seal energy leaks.

  • Compassion contract—who you serve, how often, and with what limits.

  • Sober experiments: reduce substances/screens; protect sleep.

  • Craft calendar: one offering with real devotion.

Mantras:

“I serve with boundaries.”

“Devotion, not perfection.”

During September we will have two Eclipses on 7th and 21st in the Nodal Axis Virgo/Pisces that may add fuel to the Saturn in Pisces experience.
